$100k Guaranteed Tournaments Run by Bodog Poker Every Week

Bodog Poker holds a grand tournament every week on its site. A $100k worth guaranteed tournament is held by the poker room on Sundays. A host of qualifying tournaments are run before the main event commences. Players can participate in the qualifiers with a small buy-in of $1.

Players can Select a Qualifying Tournament of their Choice

Bodog Poker players have the option to select a qualifier of their choice. Based on their scores in the qualifying tourneys, players can make their way to the final on Sundays. The guaranteed 100k tournament that took place on December 11th had a total of 562 participants. The poker room added about $15,700 so that the guaranteed prize pool can be reached.

A Sit n Go qualifier is held during the week. To enter the tournament, players are required to pay a buy-in of $35. The winner gets a free entry to Sunday’s event. The first runner-up is also provided with the buy-in for the main event. The second runner up is offered cash worth $26.00.

A Rebuy qualifying tourney is also held during the week. The buy-in for the qualifier is $7. $0.70 has to be paid for each re-buy. This tournament is run daily by the site at around 11:30 am with the exception of Thursdays and Sundays. On these days, the qualifier starts at 11:45 pm. Through this tournament, 5 entries to the Sunday $100K are offered.

Another tournament called Hyper Turbo Qualifier is held by the poker room. This tourney offers 2 guaranteed seats to the main event. Hyper Turbo Qualifier is run on the site every Sunday at 4:00, 4:10, 3:50 and 3:40. The tourney starts after distributing 300 chips to every player.

Bodog Tables Identify Players through Distinct Numbers

The tables run by Bodog Poker identify players through certain numbers instead of names. This is enabled by new technology that is being used on the site. The innovative concept, introduced Bodog has been criticized by quite a few regular players of the site. These players track their scores and that of their opponents through programs like PokerTracker and Heads-Up displays. At anonymous tables, since players cannot be recognized through names, it is difficult to track their scores and predict their moves using these programs.

Bodog claimed that its anonymous tables cannot be cracked. However, a leading poker software company has been able to decipher the way the anonymous tables work. The information is likely to soon be made public.
