Matt Savage Becomes Tournament Director of the Federated Sports and Gaming League

The inaugural event is always of extreme importance, especially for an organization such as the Federated Sports and Gaming League. This first tournament series will serve as the basis by which all of the members and players will judge the League. Whether they want to come back next year will depend on this one’s success, which is probably why they’re taking out the big guns and hiring Matt Savage as the tournament directory. They’re going to need his expertise if they want to make the inaugural event run as smoothly as possible.

Matt Savage on Board

Matt Savage is one of the most renowned people in the industry of poker, not because he won countless tournaments, but because he’s the guy behind some of the most successful ones. Savage is the tournament director of the World Poker Tour (WPT) and also of the Commerce Casino. He’s also co-founder of theTournament Directors Association, which was founded last 2001. Annie Duke even called Savage “one of the most respected and experienced tournament directors in poker” and said that Savage is going to be “instrumental in creating a very special playing experience for our league members.” Duke also promised that Savage would be working closely with her and, probably, Jeffrey Pollack, at the Palms Casino.

Other Team Members

Of course, Savage is not the only one that the League hired to ensure that everything goes smoothly. They’re also hiring Katherine “Kat” Kowal, Vice President of Deepstacks Live and one of the earliest employees of the WPT, as the Vice President op League Operations and Programming. She’s going to work on event management, business development, and also media production. They’re also going to hire Joanne Priam as the Director of Player Relations. Priam’s role will be to ensure that the league will be service-oriented. Priam previously worked with UB.com and has more than a decade of experience to offer for the betterment of the League.

Indeed, with thesethree people on board, it’s hard to imagine that the first tournament series hosted by the Federated Sports and Gaming League will be anything but successful. They have already proven their mettle more than once and if the success of the WPT is anything to go by, then surely the League will experience the same level of success, especially with the support of Annie Duke and Jeffrey Pollack.
