In a recent development, Washington D.C will soon be the first US state to legalize the online Poker. Sate government last year approved a budget that empowers state government to run poker website that can only be accessible from Washington’s territory. Opposition was given adequate time to raise their concern over the decision, but no one disagreed with the amendments, as a result, Washington people can enjoy their favorite Poker variant right within their backyard without the fear of law enforcement agencies.
At the time of writing, this is the first time in U.S history, when only state’s local players are allowed to access the gaming portal which means no outsider can take part in Washington Online Poker arena.
Earlier status of Online Poker in U.S
Though, organize online gambling is illegal in US, and Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act prohibit the US player to transfer and withdraw funds to their online gaming accounts. Though, this act does not clearly disallow online poker rooms to operate within U.S. Purpose was just to restrict financial institutions’ assisted gaming transactions, and refrain them from encouraging online gaming activities. This was a big setback for big Poker rooms. In fact, many of them left out the U.S market, and those who continue to operate faced many hindrances in managing their U.S players.
Although, Washington D.C’s players base is not that big enough to encourage poker rooms to operate and make a profit from legalize gaming activities out there, but still this can be a milestone for future federal online gaming industry.

Online fund managers like Neteller, PayPal, etc. smell a big market on their way if everything happens as good as it looks. Earlier, because of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, they have to lose their considerable account base and forced to leave out U.S player’s gambling transactions from gaming operators.
