WSOP Circuit adds Pennsylvania and Florida stops to schedule

The World Series of Poker Circuit Series will have two new stops this season, both in locales that recently expanded their gambling laws to include table games such as poker. The added tournaments mean there will be nine more stops on the 2010-2011 WSOP Circuit schedule, culminating with the National Championship that will be held on May 27th, 2011.

The first stop will be in Florida, which in 2010 removed the buy-in limits that have formerly discouraged major tournaments from holding events in the state. The WSOP Circuit stop in the Sunshine State will take place at the Palm Beach Kennel Club from February 17th through March 1st. The tournament series will feature a Main Event with a $1,500 buy-in.

The second stop added by the WSOP Circuit Series will be in Pennsylvania at the Harrah’s owned property in Chester, PA. The tournament series will run from April 28th through May 11th. The Main Event for the WSOPC Chester stop will feature a $400,000 guaranteed prize-pool, and the buy-in will once again be $1,500.

Speaking about the two new stops, WSOP President Ty Stewart said first about Florida, “Florida was definitely a market we wanted to serve, as the residents of the sunshine state have been loyal participants at the WSOP in Las Vegas.” Stewart went on to talk about the Chester, PA stop that will include live horse racing, “We’re going to have a lot of fun with the opportunity to combine the thrill of WSOP tournament poker with the pageantry of live horse racing.”
