Pokerstars and Full Tilt declare US Players Funds As Safe

This is the first good news in hearing after the DOJ cracked down last Friday. Out of the 17 accused online operators, Full Tilt and PokerStars manages to reach an agreement with Attorney Office for the Southern District of New York to offer some relief to their US players. According to the agreement, U.S. Players will soon be able to withdraw their money back out of the two pokers rooms. However, as expressly defined under the agreement, both online players will not engage in any Real Money or in kind based offerings to US players. According to PokerStars’ seized home page visible to US players, they will soon be able to withdraw their money as we (PokerStars) are looking for a suitable payment processor. Meantime PokerStars cash out option is disabled. For any query and clarification, US players can use support@pokerstars.com .

Nevertheless, the DOJ also said that they did never restrict these operators to refund players’ money, and all the accused operators were at any time been authorized to refund the deposit money back to US players. This news comes as a bright morning for all skeptical US players waiting for any progress into this legal fray.

Estimated Loss to Poker Operators

As per an estimate, there were more than 6000 new US depositors each site per day playing some sorts of poker game online. And if it is assumed to be $1000 initial deposits per player, the loss came to massive $600000 per day in deposits alone. You can easily calculate the rack loss to all accused poker players out of the recent crackdown, leave alone the advertisement and auxiliary effects of this indictment.

More figures expected to come down as times passes by. There would have been many affiliates, online marketers, as they would witness massive revenue shortfall. As per the sources, if big fishes are in caught, rest will follow accordingly.

According to some pros, this is one step by US federal government to control its gambling money outflow to offshore gaming providers. Since Federal government, itself recently indicates their intention to legalize online poker in Washington district.
