TPTK

TPTK – noun

When you’re holding Big Slick (Ace King) and the flop comes King – Ten – Four, you’re holding Top Pair Top Kicker or TPTK. This applies to any situation where you’re have the top pair on the board with an Ace in your hand.

The term Top Pair Top Kicker has been around for decades but the TPTK acronym is an Internet Forums product. More often than not when describing a situation such as the example, a person posting their hand history will say “I had TPTK on the Flop” because it’s easier than spelling it out.

“I’m holding TPTK on a rag board, open shove hoping for a call from this lagtard at the table. Of course he calls with a gut shot but winds up going runner runner hitting a back door flush draw to take me out of the tourney.”
