Bodog calls it a GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!
After signing deals with some of the best known teams in Europe and abroad, Bodog has now signed a deal with the explosive LA Galaxy that will give them rights to plaster their name on a wide range of advertising vehicles. With a star-studded lineup of players that include Landon Donovan and global superstar David Beckham, the LA Galaxy attracts a wide range of fans to their events both live and on television. This all adds up for a huge win for Bodog and a good sign that the US may be relaxing it’s stance regarding online gambling (there were many hurdles for Bodog to clear to gain approval for this deal, including discussions with the local and Federal Government).
Details of the advertising deal are still somewhat scarce but we do know it will include Bodog advertising on the dozens of LED screens at the Galaxy games, corner advertisements on the field, and airtime on the mega screens during breaks in the game. This will inevitability lead to television advertising but it’s not clear if Bodog will be allowed to use the LA Galaxy’s likeness during their television commercials.
With yet another impressive addition to the arsenal, Bodog could be one of the leaders of the pack when/if online poker is legalized in the US. Considering the DNA of the company (founder Calvin Ayre is widely seen as a billionaire visionary when it comes to online gambling), it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
