David Singontiko wins WSOP Bracelet

It’s been said again and again: this year’s WSOP is a year of firsts. There are so many first-time bracelet winners raking in the dough that it’s hard to sense the presence of the more experienced pros. David Singontiko just joined the ranks of those first time winners as he zoomed to the very top at the $1,500 pot limit Omaha eight or better event last Friday night. That was his very first time to join any WSOP event, and it was an investment that quite obviously paid off, as he is now the proud owner of a WSOP bracelet as well as the grand prize of $268,000 .

The Final Table

The turnout for the $1,500 pot limit Omaha eight or better event was pretty impressive. 946 players had decided to join, some of them pretty prestigious. But in the end, the final table was pretty full of amateurs. At ninth place was John Reiss, unfortunate enough o bump into Jeffrey Gibraltar’s superior cards. Then, Robert Campbell was eliminated by Singontiko himself. Then, seemingly on a row, Singontiko went on to eliminate Cliff Kettinger at 7th place. At sixth place was Marco Oliveira, this time eliminated by Gibraltar. Then, at fifth place was Thomas Scarber, eliminated by Singontiko again. Quickly following him was Igor Sharaskin at 4th place. Again, it was Singontiko who did the eliminating, practically making himself the most active player on the final table. Finally, it was Jeffrey Gibraltar’s turn to be eliminated, courtesy of – you guessed it – David Singontiko. That left Michael Yee and David Singontiko to battle it out at the head s u p portion of the game.

Heads up between Yee and Singontiko

At this point, Singontiko had a pretty sizeable chip lead against Michael Yee. Singontiko already had a hand in most of the eliminations during the final table, so it was really no wonder that he would eliminate Yee as well. Sure enough, just minutes into heads up play, Yee was forced to go all in against Singontiko prior to the flop. Yee held KS!C5S3C while Singontiko held AD10D8C5H. The board was revealed to be JS8S7C6H10H. That gave Singontiko a two pair, sending Yee to the rails and giving Singontiko a very much deserved victory. Singontiko was ecstatic about his victory and was enveloped by his friends in a series of hearty congratulatory hugs and pats on the back.
