22 year-old wins World Poker Tour Festa al Lago

Randal FlowersIt’s not every day that you write your name in the poker record books, but 22 year-old poker pro Randall Flowers seems to be doing just that. After taking down the World Poker Tour Festa al Lago tournament Flowers now holds two WPT records: He is the youngest ever WPT Champion thanks to his win at the 2009 WPT Spanish Championship, and now he is also the youngest ever two-time WPT Champion as well!

Flowers was able to beat a tough field of players on his way to victory, including Andy Frankenberger who was looking for a little poker history of his own –with a win Frankenberger would have won back-to-back US WPT titles after his Legends of Poker win in August.

Michael Benvenuti was likely looking for some payback against Flowers when the two found themselves heads-up for the title, as it was a killer suckout with K-T vs. KK that saved Flowers from an 8th place finish the previous day, and crippled Benvenuti –Although Benvenuti did well to keep his composure and come back from the bad beat.

Here is a look at how the final 6 players finished at the 2010 Festa al Lago:

  1. Randal Flowers $831,500
  2. Michael Benvenuti $564,200
  3. Noah Schwartz $344,968
  4. Jason Koon $225,680
  5. Andy Frankenberger $161,200
  6. Skip Wilson $112,840
