Bubble Protection Now Covering a Few Poker Sites

Online poker players now have the opportunity to insure their tournament buy-ins. A website called Bubble Protection allows players to insure their buy-ins by paying a minimum fee. The fee to insure a buy-in through Bubble Protection is approximately 12% of the buy-in amount.

Most online poker tournaments make payouts only to the top scorers. For example, in a tournament participated by 1000 players, generally only the top 10% – 100 players – get a chance to grab a share of the prize pool. The rest 900 don’t get to play for the prize pool, nor can they have the buy-in amount back. Through Bubble Protection, they can prevent this. Players gambling on sites covered by Bubble Protection are required to register their own name and the name of the tournament in which they participate. On doing so, players receive their buy-ins back automatically at the end of the tournament.

iPoker Network, PartyPoker and PokerStars Currently Covered by Bubble Protection

A few sites are covered by Bubble Protection currently. These include PartyPoker, the iPoker network and PokerStars. Tournaments allowing multiple entries and re-buy tournaments are not covered by Bubble Protection. At present, Bubble Protection cannot be availed by American players. However, the website states that once the issue of legalizing online poker is resolved in the US, Bubble Protection will be made available to American players as well.

Bubble Protection is expected to allow gamers to play in a relaxed manner as they are guaranteed to get their buy-ins back.
