High Stakes games online get serious this week

Someone, somewhere, was yelling “DONK DOWN” waving a big white flag while Gus Hansen dropped 1.1 Million over the weekend.

After crushing the Omaha-8 game earlier for around $400K, he fell victim to two bullies named Cole South and Phil Ivey. You normally see six and seven figure swings in the PLO games but as hard as it is to digest, Gus actually tanked and lost the vast majority of his chips playing LIMIT 2K 4K Omaha 8 and Seven Game Poker. Ole’ Gus has been conspicuously absent from the games on Full Tilt since the blood bath but something tells me he’ll be back before too long. Maybe he’s just tired… He did play 2,100 hands leading up the massive negative swing.

Durrrr Challenge update

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Daniel “jungleman12” Cates decided to play an encore from their first match together and this past Monday. The final tally? 958 hands with Cates getting the best of Dwan again. Once the dust settled, Cates had an extra $172K in his ‘roll and furthered his lead to almost $700K. No word on when they will play the next round but it will be interesting to see if jungleman12 can continue this (lucky?) streak.
