Merge Gaming Network to End Its RakeBack Program on June 1st

The Merge Gaming Network has announced that it will end its rake back program on June 1st this year. Rakeback is offered by online poker rooms and is a type of reward system where the poker site offers a portion of the money it takes from every pot  (or “rake”) back to their players. This can be extremely beneficial to players who wager a lot of money on poker games. The Merge Network offered 35% rakeback to its players with many receiving over $1,000 a month in rakeback payments.

In light of Black Friday and the now lack of competition it is facing, Merge Gaming has announced that it will stop offering rakeback to new players on the first of June. The move to retract the program will affect all poker sites that run on the network’s software. Thirty sites run on Merge Gaming Network with Carbon Poker being the flagship and the largest. Carbon too announced that it will pull the plug on its rake back program by the end of the month.

To be grandfathered into the program, new players will have to register at Carbon Poker before June 1st. They will also have to start playing poker with real money before the program comes to an end. If you sign up now and play one real money hand before the end of May then you will be eligible for continued rake back for lifeeven after the program is terminated.
