PartyPoker Point System Changed

PartyPoker is without a doubt a great destination for poker games, but its mediocre bonuses offered to its players, it isn’t getting much attention it deserves. PartyPoker have then decided to change their tactics in attracting new players to join its poker community. Compared to some online poker destinations, PartyPoker were among its peers when its point/rake system was unchanged. With the new system though, PartyPoker seems to have a higher rake to be collected compared to its peers.

Raising the Max Rake Cap

In order to attract more players to its population, PartyPoker decided to change its point system and rake cap. The new system has its pros and cons, depending on whether the points the players get are worth it or not. From now on, the points will only be awarded to the players who actually contribute to the pot. This way, the active players will only be the ones to get rewarded points and the overly tight players or those who play too many tables at a time and neglecting to make a turn will receive nothing. Another thing is that the rake system also changed. Although the percentage to be taken from the pot is still at 5%, the rake cap is increased, which basically that the poker site will get more from huge pots depending on the games played. Not all rake caps have been raised though. The rake caps in some games remain unchanged though such as the low and the high stake games, but the rake caps in the mid stakes have been raised which, in a way punishing its players due to winning.

Attracting New Players

Now, people might wonder how this change in the point/rake system will convince other players to join PartyPoker’s player base. For one thing, the new system will definitely attract loose players as they will be rewarded more points in the long run. This will, in turn attract newer poker players to play at PartyPoker which will in turn attract the more experienced ones as well. There is a good chance that this will work; however, people are still being driven away by their mediocre bonuses available.

The new point system definitely spices things up a notch, however, the new rake system will definitely drive people away from the mid stake games which is a letdown for those who don’t have a huge budget. Mid stake players who are bothered by the change will then have to settle in for the low stake ones or the high stake games if they can afford it. Also, in a sense, people might also lose interest in PartyPoker due to the change in the system. Sign up to party poker by clicking here now.
