Playboy’s Casino in Cancun now open for business

This past weekend Playboy opened its new $7.5 million casino in the Mexican resort area of Cancun. The nearly 13,000 square foot Casino hosted a private invite-only party on Saturday, and was officially opened to the public on Sunday. Cancun, Mexico is a tourist Mecca, and casinos have been growing more and more popular to go along with the locale’s famous beaches.

The Playboy Casino in Cancun offers a wide variety of table games, and slot and video poker machines. Among the casino’s lineup for the opening weekend extravaganza were Roulette, Blackjack, Poker, and a vast assortment of the latest in video and slot machine technology. The casino also boasts a betting parlor where patrons can place wagers on a variety of sporting events from around the world.

According to Archon Designs –the company who designed the Playboy Casino—the building would incorporate: “tasteful details emblematic of Playboy and new aspects. A replica of the chimney from the Playboy Mansion sits at the entrance with a painting of founder Hugh Hefner over it,”

In typical Playboy fashion, the company chose 25 local women out of 1,500 applicants to act as the companies trademark “bunnies” for the casino. According to Fox News Latino, “The first phase of the project is expected to create 255 direct jobs and 650 indirect jobs in construction.”
