Full Tilt Poker Loses its AGCC License

While the poker industry is preoccupied with the WSOP, Full Tilt is still busy trying to fix the problems it has with paying out their US customers. However, with the majority of its bank accounts still frozen by the United States department of Justice, it looks as if Full Tilt is still very far from solving its problems. To make matters worse, their problems have just been compounded when the AGCC or the Aldemey Gambling Control Commission.

About the Commission

The AGCC or the Alderney Gambling Control Commission is a group that is dedicated to regulating online gambling for the States of Alderney. Online gambling sites need to apply for a license in order to increase their credibility. Full Tilt poker used to have a license at Alderney, but then when the whole Black Friday incident hit, respect for Full Tilt started to dwindle swiftly. PokerStars was able to pay back its customers within weeks after they got the go signal from the government, but Full Tilt has yet to do so, even though the two of them were pretty much considered as rival sites when everything was well and good. Then, to make matters worse, Phil Ivey, Full Tilt’s star pro, decided to sue the site. As such, Full Tilt has pretty much lost all its credibility, and this new development is just like the final nail that hits the coffin.

The Suspension

Following the suspension of Full Tilt’s license, the AGCC has forbidden Full Tilt from allowing new customers to register at their site. They also cannot be allowed to accept any more deposits from their existing customers. Also, Full Tilt should allow all their existing characters to withdraw any funds they still have on their accounts. Of course, this wouldn’t have been such a problem if the US hadn’t seized Full Tilt’s bank accounts in the first place. Full Tilt was one of the best poker sites on the Internet before the whole Black Friday incident hit, and it wouldn’t have had a problem like this if nothing so untoward had happened in the legal arena. Now, a hearing is scheduled in order to discuss the matter on July 26. Hopefully, things will straighten themselves out for Full Tilt. The earlier things are ironed out in this whole issue, then the earlier the payments could start getting processed, and the earlier people will get back their money.
