Atlantic City, New Jersey was the latest stop on the World Series of Poker Circuit Series, as Harrah’s Casino played host to the $1,500 buy-in Championship tournament. The winner of the tournament was Matthew Waxman, a poker pro from Florida who has quietly amassed an impressive resume in live poker tournaments.
With the $117,797 he earned for winning the WSOP Circuit Series stop in Atlantic City Waxman now has over $550,000 in career tournament earnings according to thehendonmob.com. Waxman’s largest cash came in the $5,000 Short-Handed No Limit Holdem tournament at the 2009 WSOP where he finished 6th for $138,393. His Circuit Series win is the first time he has won a major tournament.
