Peter Eastage WSOP Bracelet sells for $147,500 on eBay

When we last updated you, Peter Eastgate’s WSOP Bracelet had been bid up to $53,800 on eBay purportedly being driven by high profile bidder Tony G. Today the bidding war concluded and while the winner has not been made public, the winning bid was a whopping $147,500.00.

It should be noted at this point that the winning bidder has zero feedback so whether this person has the means to pay remains to be seen. The second place bidder appears to be a “real” bidder with a feedback score of 100% and 139 total feedbacks on eBay. That persons bid just came short by $100 so if the high bidder doesn’t pay, that person may wind up with the bracelet.

So the question remains – Did Tony G win the bracelet? Looking at the trend of who bid and how much (even though the bidder names are truncated for privacy) it appears the answer is no. If you look at the ID’s of people bidding around the 50K mark when we know that Tony G was actively bidding, those ID’s stopped bidding for the most part before it hit six figures.  The most active bidders didn’t appear until the bidding topped 100K. So while it’s possible that Tony had someone else bidding on his behalf, it does not appear at this point that he has won the bracelet.

More questions now abound – What will his dear dog wear if not a 2008 WSOP Championship Bracelet? Will Tony take up the offer from Thomas ‘Buzzer’ Bihl, who offered Tony his WSOPE bracelet?

Either way, his next blog post is bound to be quite entertaining!
