Linda Johnson and Barry Greenstein Voted to Be Enshrined in Hall of Fame

After consolidating the votes of 17 representatives of poker media and 18 members of Poker Hall of Fame, the officials of the World Series of Poker announced the names of two eminent professionals of the industry to be enshrined next month in the Poker Hall of Fame. Barry Greenstein, a champion in poker and Linda Johnson, an entrepreneur and player, are the ones who will be included in the Hall of Fame.

Along with Greenstein and Johnson, other names included in the nominations list were, Huck Seed, Scotty Nguyen, Tom McEvoy, Jack McClelland, Marcel Luske, John Juanda, Jennifer Harman and Annie Duke. The panel, consisting of 35 members, had a difficult time voting out some of the names which they considered to be worthy for the honor. Although most of the nominees qualified for the honor, Greenstein and Johnson bested them by a large number of votes.

Johnson and Greenstein Expressed Delight on the Honor

Linda Johnson expressed her happiness in being the second woman chosen to be enshrined in the Poker Hall of Fame. She considered herself lucky to have been involved in multiple areas of poker over the last 35 years. She stated that it is a great feeling to be recognized by the industry.

Sentiments similar to Johnson were echoed in the words of Greenstein. The player stated that he is extremely lucky to have been selected for the fame along with his friend, Linda Johnson. Greenstein re-iterated the achievements of Johnson stating that she has been an ambassador of poker.

Past Achievements of Greenstein Proves his Dedication for the Game

The resume of Greenstein highlights the achievements made by him in the field of poker. The player had been an active participant in tournament and poker cash games over a period of two decades. The winner of 2 World Poker Tour championships, he has earned over $7.5 million in his poker career till date. Three prestigious bracelets in the World Series of Poker are also included in his long list of achievements.

Barry is also well-known for his charitable contributions. The player has been donating a huge portion of his wins to charitable causes for years, which earned him the name ‘The Robin Hood of Poker’.

Johnson Played a Significant Role in the World of Poker

Johnson’s achievements are commendable. The player had won a WSOP bracelet in the year 1997. She made over $340,000 from tournament. Linda was also a founding member of the Tournament Directors Association.
