Theo Jorgensen added to Team PokerStars Pro

Theo JorgensenThe one honor virtually every poker player is looking for is a major sponsorship deal and this is exactly what long-time poker player Theo Jorgensen was awarded with by PokerStars this week. Jorgensen is a Danish poker pro who specializes in PLO games, and at 38 years-old this sponsorship has been a long time coming.

In addition to his cash-game dominance, Jorgensen has had a ton of success in live poker tournaments over the past few years –which is basically the #1 factor in receiving a sponsorship deal in today’s poker climate. Jorgensen joins the PokerStars team which already includes the likes of Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Rousso, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Joe Hachem, and Vanessa Selbst.

Here is a quick look at some of Jorgensen’s major accomplishments in the poker word:

  • Won the 2010 WPT Grand Prix de Paris, pocketing nearly $850,000 for the win
  • Two EPT Final Tables
  • Won a WSOP bracelet in 2008 at the WSOP Europe in a PLO championship
  • 30th place at the 2010 WSOP Main Event
  • Nearly $2.5 million in career tournament earnings

Jorgensen will begin his tenure with PokerStars by hosting the first event of the 2010 Nordic Championship of Online Poker – one of PokerStars Regional COOP tournament series.
