Fill Tilt Poker License Hearing – Now Closed to Public

Yet another hearing regarding Full Tilt Poker with the Alderney Gambling Control Commission will be closed to the public. The players have marked September 19 on their calendars and have been waiting patiently for it as it is the day of Full Tilt’s hearing with the AGCC. Things however, won’t be as pleasing as the hearing will once again be closed to the public much like the past one which was held in July. To be fair, there wasn’t exactly a promise that the hearing would be made public to the people.

Wilsenach’s Statement

The hearing will be pushed through September 19th and Executive Director Andre Wilsenach states that “I am pleased that the Full Tilt Poker hearing will continue as scheduled, as was argued on my behalf. However, I am disappointed with the tribunal’s decision that, notwithstanding my arguments to the contrary, the hearing will be held in private. I believe the public has a right to know the reasoning behind the decisions to suspend FTP’s licenses and call a hearing, and to hear the evidence that will be put forward on my behalf. It is my understanding that the tribunal conducted a difficult balancing exercise of the interests of the various parties, taking into account the legal arguments for and against further postponing and hearing, and for and against allowing the public to attend the proceedings.” As a result, the public will not be able to attend the hearing.

Full Tilt Releases another Statement

More and more people are becoming impatient. It may seem that Full Tilt Poker is trying to dodge its former players by releasing statements exclusive to single entities. Players are getting frustrated on why Full Tilt is communicating with sites instead of actually releasing a press release to communicate with its players. On September 14, Full Tilt has yet again released an exclusive statement to PokerStrategy.com in regards to their financial standing in the issues surrounding them. There’s nothing new on the statement except that Full Tilt Poker says it will be trying to cut on its budget. Aside from that, it’s the same statement all over again – Full Tilt plans on paying back all of its players and will eventually reopen for business as it looks for potential investors that will get it out of the pinch. Players will have to wait for September 19, depending on how successful things go at the hearing.
