URnotINdanger2 and Antonius big winners this weekend

The action at the nosebleed tables has been heating up at the tail-end of 2010 –not quite to the point that it did in 2009 when Isildur1 burst on the scene—and it is familiar names who are reaping the rewards of these sessions.

One player who has had a terrific November has been Patrik Antonius. The Finnish star started the year on a tremendous downswing that had him $3 million in the red before he was able to turn it around. After a near $400,000 win this past weekend against David “Raptor” Benefield, Antonius is now up $1.2 million for November and $1.7 million for the year. Benefield and Antonius played an ultra-high-stakes session of $500/$1,000 PLO on Full Tilt Poker.

PokerNews Strategy instructor Scott “URnotINdanger2” Palmer also took advantage of Benefield this weekend, as it seems ‘Raptor’ may have been slightly tilted from his previous losses to Antonius. Palmer was able to best Benefield in two separate sessions; once for$240k and then for $234k. The two battled on the $200/$400 PLO CAP tables at Full Tilt Poker.

Don’t feel too bad for Benefield though, the poker pro was up close to $2.5 million for the year before dropping over $900k this weekend, so he still has a nice profit of close to $1.6 million for the year.

Tom Dwan and Daniel Cates remain the biggest winners on Full Tilt Poker for the year, both near the $4 million mark –ironically the two are locked-up in a heads-up challenge match with millions on the line!
